WORD COUNT 05 - ELEPHANT JUICE
Word Count becomes an incredibly versatile filter through which to see the struggling ambitions of humanity to survive amidst an ever more reduced supply of resources
PROJECT Artist Film
ARTIST Kasia Fudakowski
Word Count is an ongoing, fragmentary film project which takes as it’s premise the following scenario: In the near future, scientists confirm a direct correlation between the dramatically rising sea-levels and the amount of words that we speak. The central narrative thread dips in and out of shorts shot around the world, which investigate the consequences of this new law, and humanity’s propensity to adapt and improvise from different cultural, economic and climactic perspectives.
Along with the existing four shorts, Elephant Juice features three new shorts shot in The Hague, one of which follows David’s narrative as a recently made redundant Radio DJ trying to make sense of his position in this new world order. The words ‘Elephant Juice’, when mouthed, are almost indistinguishable from the words ‘I love you’.
